Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a one stop web interface that will allow me to edit hobbit's
alert file, bb-hosts and maybe event the hobbit-clients file. I saw a
couple cgi addons on Deadcat that will allow me to do bb-hosts. Does anyone
know if anything like this exists for all the files.

Thank you for your reply in advance.

Chris,

There are some web based scripts that will allow you to do that. I thought they may be on The Shire (http://www.trantor.org/theshire/doku.php/about), but I could not find them. You could try searching the list archives, or I can dig them up and send them to you directly.

Thanks David,

I have not seen anything in the archives, however, I might have missed it.
There is a decent PERL program written by Chris Naude on Deadcat. However,
I want something that will be easy for the average user to modify, such as
forms and nice little comments and pictures :) I think I may just modify
his program to do what I need.

With that said, if you do come across anything, please send it over.

Thanks!

There was some discussion around this in the past and I believe it was
deemed to be a bad idea. However, you may want to check the archives to
see for sure. There are definitely some additional administrative
scripts available...just look at the links on The Shire's front page.

Hello,
maybe you should take a look at this site:
http://www.fh-augsburg.de/~henk/hobbit/

the tools there should match your requirements.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I use the hobbit_admintools written by Stefan Freisler (a set of scripts
to edit configuration files, view hobbit logs, modify hosts/services...)

Once setup they are working very well and it eases your life to be able
to edit config files in the webbrowser.

You'll find the package here:

Greetings,

You might also want to have a look at bb-hosts.cgi on deadcat.net. It is a simple, effective script for editing bb-host files. You can use it to modify other files as well by tweaking a few variables in the script.
