Solaris msgs alert not clearing

I had gone around adding the mark to the system loggers. It'd be good to
have a better way, but that's the way that one had available when
speaking of Big Brother.

    possible that the event is one of the last things appearing in the
    logs (has not been overshadowed in the log with new activity), so

    I'm having a problem with a Solaris client. A msgs alert was
    triggered over 2 hours ago, and it still has not cleared, even
    though no new alert-worthy messages have appeared in the message
    log. Has anybody else seen this behavior? I'm running a 4.2.0
    server, I'm not sure what the version of the client is since I don't
    have access to the box involved (Henrik, it might be a good idea to
    include the Hobbit client version in the client data).
