Restricting checks reported by the clients

Hi all,

Is there a recommended way to block unwanted client checks, like
BBGHOSTS but on checks not hostnames?
I would like to limit new checks generated by the server admins to those
approved by the monitoring team.
I thought about adding some filter code myself, but maybe someone has
done that before?
