monitoring linux machines

We are switching machines from a windows environment to a linux environment. We are currently able to get data for uptime, who, and netstat from our windows clients no problem but our linux machines running Centos 5.3 x_64 are not showing data for uptime, who, and netstat. The client is running on each linux machine but the data is not being received by the server. Has anyone I had an issue like this.
