Very nice, and I especially enjoyed your introduction :-)

It does show in a few places that it was written for BB originally, 
e.g. when referring to the $BBHOME/etc/bbdef.sh file and how you 
install the extension. If you can find a bit of spare time, it would
be really nice if you could rework that into the Hobbit way of doing
things.
