FreeNAS and hobbit client

Has anyone gotten the Hobbit client (or is that the Xymon client now =)
running on FreeNAS?  Or even FreeBSD 6.x for that matter?

I am curious on how to go about starting this.  I have minimal BSD
experience so I am hoping I can learn how package management is done and
create a package for Xymon for the easiest route.
