"Not possible to test https-sites via a proxy"

Hi,

   I would like to test HTTPS website trough my web proxy, but I read on the Xymon documentation :

   "HTTP Testing via proxy
    [...]
     http://webproxy.sample.com:3128/http://www.foo.com/
     would be the syntax for testing the www.foo.com website via the proxy running on "webproxy.sample.com" port 3128.
    [...]
    Note that it is not possible to test https-sites via a proxy, nor is it possible to use https for connecting to the proxy itself.
    [...]"

   Any change this restriction has been removed/improved ?
