Are you merely talking about the BB professional server? We're running an
old version of the BB server (bb1.9c) and I seem to get the same errors
as Ralph, is it impossible to make it work there too?
You cannot use a Hobbit client with a BB server - whether it is BB Pro
or the "better-than-free" version.
The Hobbit server is compatible with BB clients, but not the other
way around.
