`xymoncmd xymond_alert --dump-config` should give you syntax errors on
STDERR if it sees anything it doesn't understand. Logic errors are a
different thing, but that will also print out what it's planning to do
after parsing.

I thought there was a alerts file checking command that would check it for
syntax etc ...  am I dreaming that?

anyone know of some easy way fo checking that the alerts file "makes
sense" - this to easily check there isn't some silly typo/stuff up half
way down that breaks all the subsequent alerts.
