Native SNMP support

I'm currently building a new Xymon server and I'd like to use the 
native SNMP monitoring feature. I see snmpmibs.cfg is included with 
the latest versions of xymon.

Is there a way to get alarms triggered on some monitored values ?

Is Devmon still the only way to have full SNMP monitoring with Xymon ?
