Try this from the client
telnet 10.164.4.24 1984
If you don't get any respond then it is firewall since according to you
all other clients sending data fine to the hobbitd server

I figured it was the firewall but I spoke with the firewalll guys and they
proved that it wasn't.
Got any ideas where I can look next?
