I can confirm that the following worked (as opposed to the syntax above):
for i in ds1 ds2 ds3 etc..
do
rrdtool tune myfile.rrd --minimum ${i}:0
done
rrdtool dump myfile.rrd myfile.xml
rrdtool restore myfile.xml myfile.rrd -r
