I a monitoring a URL based on HTTP protocol. The default response time
setting seems to be 10 secs. I would like to change it to a higher
number. Can anyone of you know please let me know how to change this

It's a global setting. Use the --timeout=N option for the xymonnet command
(see the xymonnet(1) man-page).
