how to monitor websites--help needed

If you click on the http test for that host you should see some
information.  It give you a 200 for everything is good or a 403 access
forbidden in your case.

i did not see anything regarding login checks in the gui.i have mentioned
wrong uname and password but i did not see error message on the gui.i can

The latter part of that is the test for the website.  The second column
is the name used that gets resolved for conn/ping tests (unless you have
testip).
