Sorry... I'm thinking how mine is setup due to firewalls.

I have the clients reporting to 127.0.0.1 because we run a ssh tunnel between server and client.

If you using IP's then ignore my last email.

	Why would you need to use a different port?

		You would have to use different port though for each client? There one of the server I assume would have to listen on a perhaps 1985 ?

			I would feel confident two clients would work - though I'm not sure why you would do such a thing.

			The xymon client reading and looking doesn't interfere with anything else I have used, so I expect it not to interfere with the other xymon client.

				are there any restrictions that you can not run 2 xymon clients on the same host ?
				clients are running:

				*	started under different users
				*	in different directories
				*	reporting to different servers
				*	with different versions
				*	different external scripts
				*	running on same port 1984

				just want to make sure that there are conflicts with shared memory, semaphores or any other system resource that could harm this setup from Xymon client SW design/architecture
