page.log: Argument list too long

Hi,

I'm getting errors in page.log:
2008-11-17 04:18:02 Could not launch paging 
script /home/users/hobbit/server/ext/alerting.pl: Argument list too long

This is the entry hobbit-alerts.cfg:

HOST=*
   SCRIPT /home/users/hobbit/server/ext/alerting.pl FORMAT=TEXT   RECOVERED 
REPEAT=1440 DURATION>10

The error is a procs check that went red.  This server a lot of processe, so 
the variable BBALPHAMSG is quite large.

Any idea what could be wrong ?
