maybe you allready tried this:

use a program to monitor the traffic and see if there is any
communication between 2 computers.
than check the firewall
the settings of client and server
check on server for ghost client, it means the name in bb-host is
different from the real name of the client

Assuming the arguments to nc6 are the same as nc, try:

% echo hobbitdboard | nc6 -v 134.2.3.206 1984

You should either see something like:
Connection to 134.2.3.206 1984 port [tcp/bb] succeeded!
...

OR if there is a problem:

nc: connect to 134.2.3.206 port 1984 (tcp) failed: Connection refused
Hi,

ohm:~ # echo hobbitdboard | nc6 -v 134.2.3.206 1984
nc6: systest6.zdv.uni-tuebingen.de (134.2.3.206) 1984 [bb] open
ohm:~ #

from the client i can´t get a connection to my server 134.2.3.206:1984
What happened when you run following on server or client machines?

% bb 134.2.3.206 hobbitdboard
I get the same list of host from my xymon. Here are a extract from the
command:

447|0|0|134.2.3.206|-1|clear <!-- [flags:ordAstLe] --> Wed Sep  9 08:27:02
2009 conn ok : Disabled

<!-- [flags:ordAstLe] --> Wed Sep  9 08:27:02 2009 conn NOT ok

I add the complete output from the command to this email as a txt file.
