Getting rid of Purple notifications

I recently monitored a service on a server that I know longer need
monitoring.  I removed it from the client and server's bb-hosts.  I deleted
everything out of hist and histlogs regarding this service, but I am still
getting emails saying Stopped Reporting (PURPLE).  How can I get this to
stop?
