Martin, I did the following.
1)HOBBIT server is A, client server is B
2)new file(linux-iostat.pl) under client/ext on machine B
3)added entry of [linux-iostat] in hobbitclient.cfg on machine B

4) My entry on bb-hosts is as following:
<IP > <server name> # TRENDS:*,disk:disk|iostat-disk|iostat-part

and exact copy of graph details from the stef's site, to hobbitgraph.cfg
Log file(linux-iostat.log) has nothing in it.

Thank you so much for your help.

Hmm,

what says your logfile ?

[linux-iostat]
  ENVFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/etc/hobbitclient.cfg
  CMD $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/ext/linux-iostat.pl
  LOGFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/logs/linux-iostat.log
  INTERVAL 5m

.. and you've got the entries on the server
in hobbitgraph.cfg and bb-hosts ?

cheers,

Which version do you run on your server ?

You need this patch

http://www.hswn.dk/hobbiton/2007/01/msg00236.html

or better the new release candidate

http://hobbitmon.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/hobbitmon/branches/4.2.2/
