Bug in Mailman version 2.1.29: We're sorry, we hit a bug!

It is possible to add new subscribers to the list manually, but it is correct that the mailman web form for signing up is broken (and has been for some time).
The easiest solution would probably be to setup a new server with
Mailman v3, instead of trying to fix the old server running
Mailman v2 or upgrading Mailman from v2 to v3 - when I looked at
the upgrade procedure it seemed rather complicated. So instead I
would suggest to just do a fresh Mailman installation, and then
import the subscriber list. The archives a just flat HTML files,
so they are fairly easy to handle - I think a bit of URL rewriting
can make them accessible on top of the new Mailman v3 archives.
If someone is willing to take on that task, then I have no problem with supplying the subscriber list and making the DNS changes necessary for xymon.com mails to go to the new server.

I did try to confirm that thers is a problem or not with the mailing list: So I try to subscribe to the mailing list and I receive this message:

Please inform the webmaster for this site of this problem. Printing of traceback and other system information has been explicitly inhibited, but the webmaster can find this information in the Mailman error logs or the web server logs.

This seems to confirm that, people are currently unable to subscribe
And maybe also as Liang, Ye-Fee wrote: "and now find myself unable to email to the mailing list" (29.9.2023)
