ignore certain things in a log file

Could somebody tell me why this won't work?

 
HOST=testserver

        LOG     %/var/adm/messages kern "IGNORE=%(corrupt label|wrong
magic number)"

 
Trying to ignore all lines in the messages file that contain those key
words.
