Right thanks, so the BBCLIENTLOGS in hobbitclient.cfg is not used.

Haven't been bothered by it myself, but a quick grep for LOG in
/home/hobbit/client/etc turns up a bunch of these:
LOGFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/logs/hobbitclient.log
in clientlaunch.cfg. Maybe that's what's happening to your logs??
