Potential bug in FILE analysis

To read the /var/core directory I added the xymon group to the root
group on some machines, on others I have changed the perms.  You have
to change the perms to read the /var/crash/[hostname] directory though
as it is 700

Anybody know of a way to give Xymon elevated access permissions when it
stats files it's checking?
I would prefer not to change the directory permissions if I can avoid it.
