Propagation of red ack check marks

When I ack something on a sub page, the status turns into a red check mark, but the status on the main page just stays the normal red.  Is there a way to enable the red checkmark icon to propagate up to the main page?  Otherwise it looks like there is a non-acknowledged error when there is not.
