bb-hosts to hosts.cfg

Is there a way to convert old configuration-files to new files. like 
bb-hosts -> host.cfg
I copied bb-hosts to hosts.cfg and all I get are a column withe red 
connections.

Perhaps it's a silly question.
But I have been away a while from
