My hobbit-alert.cfg file has the following line in it:

HOST=*
        MAIL user-2a9e3c790857@xymon.invalid

The command to send the mail look very odd. What have you as MAILC=?? in
hobbitserver.cfg? Should be like # For the hobbitd_alert module

MAIL="$MAILC -s"                                # Command used to send an
e-mail
 with a subject
