Yes it has me baffled. Although the server can ping the troubled client and
a client right next to that one is reporting just fine this one is not
showing anything. I fired up iptraf and do see error messages that the
xymon server can't reach itself. SO I am just doing some more digging.

I didn't. All my big Brother clients continue to work just fine.
It was a painless transition. If your Big Brother clients continue to meet
your business needs, there is no reason to change them.
