purple events

Has anyone experienced issues with hobbit not starting and stopping
correctly after the hobbitlaunch.log reaches 2 gigs? Once my log reaches
2 gigs it sends out false pages and shows purple events. If I delete the
hobbitlaunch.log everything starts working. Is there a logswitch
utility?
