Here is a link to how to compile xymon for centos 6. It has some very good checks that may help you find your setup issue.  I can say that just installing the client with yum does not make every thing good to go. Now the link is for setting up the server after compiling, the checks for user and permissions will still get you zeroed in on the issue.

I did the steps below then after install I attempted to restart the xymon client


Run command:
nano /etc/yum.repos.d/xymon.repo &&  yum install epel-release.noarch -y && yum install xymon-client.x86_64 –y

then edited the cfg file to point to our main Xymon server. Let me know what you think

Jean, to me it looks like your installed location and the paths in your config file do not match up. And looks like the owner or permissions on your files are not correct.


Can you share a bit more on how you got to this point?

After I installed the client, I am having issues starting the xymon service, I get the errors below. Can you assist on this?


Starting xymon: reopen_file: Cannot open new file: No such file or directory
